Job summary

Fliway Group in Christchurch is seeking a Driver Assistant to join our Home Delivery Team. You will help loading, unloading, delivering and picking up customers’ products with a Driver, ensuring quality and safety.

This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a focus on safe operations, accurate scanning and timely documentation. You bring reliable punctuality, good communication, basic computer skills, and a customer‑service mindset; experience in transport is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in driver assistant roles or within transport/logistics.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable and punctual with good organizational abilities.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use scanning devices.
• Ability to follow procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as outlined in training modules, policies and procedures.
• Be helpful, friendly and polite when dealing with receivers and others.
• Deliver on time and conduct delivery, unpacking and installs per instructions.
• Wear the correct uniform and PPE and maintain appearance to represent Fliway professionally.
• Perform all functions in a safe manner.
• Be responsible for daily checks on the vehicle in your care.
• Be responsible for vehicle and actions involved in pickup/delivery of freight requiring one or more persons.
• Complete all scanning and notifications correctly and on time as required.

We are looking for Driver Assistant to join our Home delivery Team in Christchurch

About the role: As a Driver Assistant, you are to assist with loading, unloading, delivering and picking up customer’s product with a Driver in a safe way and ensuring the quality and security of the products, and the completion of required scanning and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• To carry out your work as outlined in the company training modules, operations manual, policies, rules, standards, and procedures.
• To work in a helpful, friendly, and polite manner, when dealing with receivers and others.
• Deliver as per agreed delivery time and conduct delivery, unpacking, installs as per instructions from Fliway or customer.
• To wear the correct uniform and PPE that is supplied for the tasks you are doing, and to take care of them and your appearance so you represent Fliway professionally.
• Perform all functions in a safe manner.
• Be responsible for daily checks on the vehicle in your care.
• To be responsible for a vehicle and required actions involved in the pickup and delivery of the freight requiring one or more persons.
• Complete all scanning and notifications correctly and on time – as required in the procedure for Fliway or as specified by the customer.
