Job summary

Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking a friendly, physically fit and enthusiastic part-time library assistant to join our dynamic team in Rotorua. You will help with public enquiries, issue and shelve books, and support a range of library services and outreach activities.

Hours are 23 per week, including Saturdays; we value manaakitanga and whanaungatanga, and training will be provided to handle diverse customer needs. A sense of humour and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Full driver’s licence
• Computer skills
• Cash handling skills
• Ability to lift and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Assist with public enquiries and issue, return and shelve books
• Work collaboratively with library team to deliver wider services, programmes and events
• Contribute to Library to You outreach book delivery and digital literacy initiatives
