Nelson City Council’s Nightingale and Elma Turner Library team is looking for a friendly, customer-focused part-time team member. Based primarily at Nightingale with some shifts at Elma Turner, you’ll help deliver excellent service across branches and support daily library operations.
You will assist diverse customers, manage daily tasks, and help maintain welcoming spaces, fitting a 36-hour weekly roster over four weeks (including two weekends).

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of delivering outstanding customer service across Nelson Public Libraries’ branches. You’ll assist a diverse range of customers with their library needs, helping to create a friendly, inclusive, and well‑organised environment. Alongside front‑line service, you’ll support key administrative tasks, maintain library collections, and contribute to the smooth running of our spaces and services. This role is primarily based at Nightingale library with some shifts at Elma Turner Library.
