Job summary

Four Points by Sheraton Auckland is seeking a Commis Chef to join our part-time kitchen team on Queen Street. You’ll organize your station, prepare, portion and present dishes to a high standard for travellers seeking genuine hospitality.

You should have a relevant cookery qualification, a passion for the industry, and the energy to thrive in a fast-paced hotel kitchen. Working rights in New Zealand are required and you’ll be supported by Marriott’s global training network.

Qualifications

• Trade Industry Qualification or completion of Commercial Cookery Qualification.
• Passion for the industry.
• Relevant experience in a similar role.
• Working rights in New Zealand.
• Enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, driven and energized in a fast-paced environment.
• Armed with smart solutions and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Organise and maintain assigned section of the kitchen effectively
• Serve food in proper portions and onto proper receptacles
• Maintain organisational skills to ensure your section is clean and runs efficiently throughout each service period
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a way that aims to exceed travellers expectations
• Understand traveller’s requirements and deliver service excellence with each travellers experience
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a way that aims to exceed travellers expectations
• Maintain strong food safety and property standards
