Job summary

SkyCity Hamilton is seeking a Commis Chef to support the kitchen team in preparing, cooking and presenting quality dishes with care and pride. This casual role requires a passion for food, a focus on cleanliness, and the ability to work under pressure in a vibrant venue.

You will be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be flexible with shifts. A relevant culinary trade qualification is desirable and full training will be provided.

Mō te Tūranga | About the role:

We're on the lookoutfor a talented Commis Chef with an appetite for delivering high quality food and exceptional service. In this role you will be responsible for assisting the team with preparing, cooking and presenting quality dishes that 'wow' our customers, as well as various other kitchen duties as directed by the senior Chef on shift.

You will also;

• Be a strong advocate for food safety and hygiene
• Ensure stock is controlled and rotated as required

This is a casual role with no fixed hours.

It'll be your winning attitude, excellent customer service skills, and ability to work under pressure which will make you a great fit for SkyCity. You will demonstrate proven cookery techniques and a genuine passion for quality food, as well as having an eye for detail and taking great care and pride in your work.

To be successful in this role, you will also;

• Be a strong multitasker with great problem solving skills
• Be a team player who can collaborate and work to agreed targets and demands
• Have fantastic interpersonal skills and be a confident and clear communicator
• Be well presented with a high level of professionalism
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work a variety of shifts
• Have (or be studying towards) a relevant culinary trade qualification
