Qualifications

• Significant commercial leadership experience in civil construction or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong contract administration and negotiations experience.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to influence outcomes and provide practical commercial solutions in complex projects.

Joining our Waikare Gorge Realignment Project, just north of Napier, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the commercial success of a major infrastructure project that will deliver lasting benefits to New Zealand communities. Working alongside a high-performing project team, you'll provide commercial leadership, manage risk and opportunities, and help drive successful project outcomes from delivery through to completion.

Working closely with project leadership, delivery teams, clients, and key stakeholders, you'll provide commercial leadership across the project lifecycle, ensuring robust contract management, effective risk mitigation, and strong financial performance. This is an opportunity to influence project success while contributing to infrastructure that will have a lasting impact on New Zealand communities.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading the commercial function across the project from contract award through to completion

What you'll bring:

• Significant commercial management experience within civil construction, infrastructure, engineering, or major projects valued at $50,000,000 or above.
• Strong expertise in contract administration, commercial negotiations, and risk management
• Proven experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
• Sound knowledge of procurement, project controls, and contract management processes
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• The ability to influence outcomes and provide practical commercial solutions in a complex project environment
• A collaborative approach and commitment to achieving successful project outcomes
• A genuine commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
