Job summary

Hastings District Libraries is seeking an energetic Collections and Content Services Library Assistant to join our team across all library sites. The role focuses on processing and maintaining library collections and delivering front-of-house customer service with a can-do attitude.

This permanent part-time position is 37 hours per week, typically Tue–Sat, with standard daytime hours and a mix of duties across systems, devices and platforms.

Job description

Heretaunga Hastings Libraries play a vital role in connecting our community with information, knowledge and each other. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Collections and Content Services Library Assistant with a can-do attitude to join our Collections and Content Services team working across all our library sites.

The key objective of this position is to process and maintain library collections plus front of house customer service within Hastings District Libraries. This position would be ideal for someone with outstanding people skills, an eye for detail but an appreciation of the bigger picture, proven productivity and the ability to adapt to a range of systems, devices and platforms.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 37 hours per week.You will work Tuesday to Saturday, with hours generally 8.30am - 5.30pm Tuesday to Friday (one weekday will be 8.30am - 4.30pm, to be determined) and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.
