THE TEAM

The Engineering & Maintenance team is responsible for the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of buildings, facilities, infrastructure, and technical systems across our luxury lodge portfolio. Working closely with property leadership and cross-functional partners, the team safeguards each property’s integrity and long-term value through proactive maintenance, asset management, regulatory compliance, capital planning, and sustainability initiatives.

YOUR ROLE

As Cluster Director of Engineering, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight of engineering operations across a portfolio of luxury lodges. You will maintain high standards of safety, reliability, compliance, sustainability, and guest satisfaction while supporting the portfolio’s long-term business objectives.Partnering with property leadership teams, Finance, Procurement, Talent & Culture, and Operations, you will drive engineering performance through effective maintenance strategies, asset lifecycle planning, capital investment management, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will help ensure that facilities, infrastructure, and critical systems operate efficiently and support exceptional experiences for guests, associates, and owners.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE

• Lead engineering and maintenance functions across the lodge portfolio, aligning objectives, standards, and initiatives with business priorities and brand expectations.
• Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs that strengthen asset reliability and operational performance.
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of facilities, infrastructure, utilities, plant, equipment, kitchens, laundries, guest accommodations, and public areas.
• Direct asset condition assessments, lifecycle planning, major renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and capital projects in line with budget, timeline, and luxury brand standards.
• Strengthen life-safety, fire protection, emergency preparedness, business continuity, and regulatory compliance through effective governance, audits, and risk management.
• Lead operating and capital expenditure planning, including long-term asset investment plans, financial forecasting, and cost optimization.
• Drive sustainability and continuous improvement across energy, water, waste, natural resources, building systems, and engineering operations.
• Recruit, coach, and develop engineering leaders and technical teams while building a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable working environment.

COULD THIS BE YOU?

• You are an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in hospitality, resorts, lodges, facilities management, or a related environment.
• You have led engineering operations across multiple properties or geographically dispersed locations, ideally within luxury or high-end hospitality.
• You bring strong technical knowledge supported by a degree, diploma, trade qualification, or relevant professional certification in engineering, building services, facilities management, building maintenance, or a related discipline.
• You have a proven track record in preventive maintenance, asset lifecycle management, capital projects, regulatory compliance, energy management, and business continuity planning.
• You combine commercial awareness with strong experience in budgeting, capital planning, forecasting, and operational cost management.
• You are an effective communicator who builds trusted relationships and influences stakeholders across different functions, properties, and levels of an organization.
• You are committed to safety, sustainability, innovation, service excellence, and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences.
• You are comfortable travelling approximately 25 to 35% of the time to support properties across the portfolio.
