Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) is hiring for a Platform Engineer based in Auckland. The role focuses on building and operating BNZ core AWS and Azure platforms, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring three days in the office and two days flexible.

You’ll automate provisioning, patching, and compliance, and work on platform reliability and performance improvements. You will partner with engineering teams to enhance developer experience, platform adoption, and self-service capabilities, while

Qualifications

• Core services knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
• Landing Zones – Azure or AWS
• Policy guardrails
• FinOps practices
• Hands on experience with the following services (you don’t need to tick all the boxes but a majority is preferable)
• Virtual machines
• Firewalls
• Networking components
• Access controls
• Observability and monitoring platforms
• Storage
• Serverless
• Operational support (including on-call)
• Infrastructure as Code
• Terraform
• CloudFormation
• CI/CD practices and deployment automation
• Scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell,Bash, )
• Security andcompliancecloud-native services

Responsabilités

• Build, operate, and improve core AWS and Azure platforms.
• Automate platform operations, provisioning, patching, and compliance activities.
• Contribute to solutions around platform, reliability, and performance challenges.
• Partner with teams to improve platform adoption, developer experience and self-service capabilities.
• Contribute to best practice platform standards, documentation, and engineering guidance.
• Drive improvements in security, reliability, automation, and developer experience.
