Job summary

SSB Transport Limited in Palmerston North is looking for a Class 5 Truck Driver to join our team. You will plan routes, operate Class 5 vehicles, supervise loading, and maintain delivery records with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires NZ Class 5 license, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to work weekends and variable hours. A forklift and DG license are a plus, and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• NZ Class 5 Driver License or overseas equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years truck driving experience.
• Able to pass mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
• Weekend and day/night shift availability.
• Willingness to obtain Forklift and DG licenses if not held.
• Physical fitness to secure loads and perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute delivery routes to ensure timely arrival of goods.
• Operate trucks on various routes, adhering to traffic regulations.
• Supervise loading and unloading of products, ensuring careful handling.
• Transport fragile and heavy items with care and precision.
• Maintain and update delivery records for tracking purposes.
• Conduct daily inspections of the truck for safety and maintenance.
• Monitor fuel levels and refuel as needed during operations.
• Report mechanical defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
