Job summary

East Tamaki Rubani Holdings Limited is seeking a permanent, full-time Class 5 truck and trailer driver for container and freight operations in Auckland. The role involves container moves across ports, depots and customer sites, with occasional longer runs in the Upper North Island.

Salary is $52.50 per hour, with 32–40 hours weekly on floating shifts; start times range 4:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Saturday. Must have NZ Class 5 (or be able to obtain), DG endorsement (or eligible), and relevant

Qualifications

• Two years' relevant work experience in transport, freight, logistics or warehouse operations.
• Current NZ Class 5 driver licence, or Class 4 with ability to obtain Class 5 before starting.
• Current dangerous goods endorsement, or ability to obtain before starting.
• Good understanding of NZ road rules, heavy vehicle safety, load restraint, vehicle checks, fatigue management and work-time/rest-time requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver containers and other freight between port, depot and customer sites.
• Operate swinglift equipment safely to load and unload containers, following training and safety procedures.
• Complete vehicle and equipment checks, secure loads, and report defects, incidents and hazards.
• Transport dangerous goods as required, meeting safe handling, documentation and placarding requirements.
• Coordinate collection and delivery within management priorities and keep customers informed of arrival times and delays.
• Check freight documents, maintain run sheets and proof of delivery, and pass records to accounts for invoicing.
