Job summary

Econowaste in Auckland is seeking a Class 5 Waste Operator for night shifts (3pm/4pm start to 3am/4am finish), Monday to Friday, 55–60 hours per week. You will operate our waste-transport vehicles, load equipment, and back trailers into tight spaces while loading recyclables with care.

Responsibilities include unloading Walking Floor trailers, maintaining NZTA-compliant records, and working unsupervised on a night shift. Must be physically fit and health and safety focused.

Qualifications

• Clean and valid Full Class 5 Drivers License.
• Loader license and ability to load own truck/trailer.

Can you reverse a 5 axle trailer up a hill, around a barrier and into a single parking bay ?

Can you competently operate a loader and load a high side alloy trailer?

Required to unload a Walking Floor trailer.

Back trailer into a tight spot at our Silverdale yard and self load recyclables to Visy, that's the uphill and around a corner backing in a tight spot without hitting the concrete blocks on blind side.

As a Class 5 Waste Operator, you'll be responsible for operating our vehicles along with the onboard equipment to ensure an overall safe and timely transfer of waste materials. You will also be required to keep accurate driving records and have sound knowledge of NZTA guidelines.

What are we looking for:

Can reverse a 5 axle trailer without hitting anything or burning out a clutch (not a Roady)

Clean and Valid Full Class 5 Drivers License

Loader license and skills to load own truck and trailer

Ability to work unsupervised on night shift

Physically fit with the ability to work autonomously

Health and Safety focused
