Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced Class 5 driver to join a busy freight operation based at the Christchurch hub. You’ll drive linehaul routes across the South Island and handle loading, securing, and documentation with a focus on safety and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have a current NZ Class 5 licence and linehaul experience, strong knowledge of South Island roads, and a professional, reliable approach.

Qualifications

• NZ Class 5 licence required.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 5 linehaul routes from Christchurch across the South Island.
• Load, unload and secure freight and complete delivery paperwork.
• Perform pre-start vehicle checks and maintain safety standards.
• Adhere to scheduled run times and safe driving practices.
• Communicate with transport team and customers as required.

We’re looking for experienced Class 5 drivers to join a busy freight operation, running linehaul routes from the Christchurch hub across the South Island.

This is a great, long-term opportunity for a reliable driver who is comfortable with long-distance driving and understands the importance of keeping freight moving safely and on schedule.

The role

• Class 5 linehaul driving from Christchurch throughout the South Island
• Regular inter-depot and freight delivery runs
• Loading and unloading freight as required
• Securing freight correctly
• Completing pre-start vehicle checks
• Completing delivery paperwork and relevant documentation
• Working to scheduled run times while maintaining safe driving practices
• Communicating with the transport team and customers when required

What we’re looking for

• Current NZ Class 5 licence
• Previous Class 5 and linehaul experience
• Good knowledge of South Island roads and routes
• Reliable and punctual
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and manage long-distance runs
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Clean and professional approach to representing the company
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
