Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is looking for an experienced Class 4 & 5 Driver to join an established civil and drainage contractor in Hastings. You'll be operating articulated trucks and semi-trailers, with previous tipping experience essential for this role.

Location: Hastings, Hawke’s Bay. Start date in October. Weekly pay at $30-36 per hour depending on experience, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability across civil and drainage sites.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Class 4 and/or Class 5 Driver Licence.
• Proven experience operating heavy vehicles.
• Previous tipping experience is essential.
• Experience with articulated trucks or semi-trailers.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 4 and Class 5 vehicles safely and professionally.
• Drive articulated trucks and semi-trailers on civil projects.
• Carry out tipping work safely and efficiently.
• Transport materials to and from civil and drainage sites.
• Complete vehicle and safety checks.
• Work with civil and drainage crews as required.
• Follow site and road Health & Safety requirements.

Pay rate: $30-36 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly

What you’ll be doing

• Operating Class 4 and Class 5 vehicles safely and professionally
• Driving articulated trucks and semi-trailers across civil projects
• Carrying out tipping work safely and efficiently
• Transporting materials to and from civil and drainage sites
• Completing appropriate vehicle and safety checks
• Working alongside civil and drainage crews when required
• Following all site and road Health & Safety requirements

What we’re looking for

• Current NZ Class 4 and/or Class 5 Driver Licence
• Proven experience operating heavy vehicles
• Previous tipping experience is essential
• Experience with articulated trucks or semi-trailers
• Civil or drainage industry experience would be advantageous
• Strong Health & Safety awareness and a reliable work ethic
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
