Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking an experienced Civil Drainlayer to join our established civil and drainage team in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay. Proven drainage experience is essential, though certification is not strictly required if you have the hands-on skills to get the job done.

You will be responsible for drainage installation across civil projects, reading plans, and working safely within active construction sites. Start date is October with weekly pay at market rates.

Job description

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Civil Drainlayer to join an established civil and drainage contractor in Hastings.

Proven drainage experience is essential, but you don’t need to be certified if you have the practical skills and experience to get the job done.

Location: Hastings, Hawke’s Bay

Start date: October

Pay rate: $35 to $45 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly

What you’ll be doing

• Carrying out drainage installation across civil projects
• Laying and connecting drainage pipes and associated systems
• Working around excavations, trenches and civil infrastructure
• Reading plans and following site specifications
• Using appropriate drainage tools and equipment
• Working alongside machine operators and other civil crew
• Completing work safely and to a high standard

• Drainlaying certification is advantageous but not essential
• Confident working within active civil construction sites
• Strong Health & Safety awareness
• Reliable, practical and able to work effectively within a crew
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
