Job summary

WM New Zealand in Dunedin is seeking a driven Driver/Operator to operate a range of trucks and support waste collection across Dunedin and surrounds.

You’ll work with the latest onboard technology, perform daily safety checks, and contribute to safe, timely operations while advancing your career with our team. Preference for Class 4 licence, with support for progression from Class 2.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class 2 or 4 NZ driver's licence.
• Able to work varied shifts and independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of vehicles with onboard technology for safe timely collections.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance as required.
• Operate computerized systems and other work-related systems.
• Load/unload waste materials and manage transport and disposal per requirements.
• Carry out servicing, deliveries and processing of waste as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a driver to join our team in Dunedin. In this role, you'll operate a variety of trucks while enjoying guaranteed hours, family-friendly shifts, and a competitive hourly rate. While a Class 4 licence is preferred, we are open to supporting an experienced and motivated Class 2 driver to gain their Class 4 licence and grow their career with us.

Job Description

As an Operator, you’ll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles equipped with the latest onboard technology to ensure safe and timely collections across Dunedin and surrounding areas. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with training, instructions or operating procedures and company regulations.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicle and/or equipment as and when required.
• Operate computerized systems and other work related systems.
• Perform loading and unloading duties and transport and disposal of varying waste materials, in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Undertake servicing, delivery and processing of waste as required.

Qualifications

You are customer-focused, reliable, and adaptable. You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and you’re open to learning new skills and ongoing training.

• Class 2 or 4 New Zealand driver’s licence
