CARTERS Manufacturing in Lower Hutt, Wellington has a Class 2 Driver role, with potential to train up to a Hiab Driver. The role combines delivery duties with factory work as a manufacturing operator, supporting timely, safe customer service across sites.

Ideal candidates hold a NZ Class 2 licence, forklift experience, and a can-do attitude. An opportunity to advance with HIAB licensing is available in a supportive team.

About the role

CARTERS Manufacturing in Lower Hutt, Wellington has an opportunity for a Class 2 Driver to join their busy team. This versatile role involves operating a Class 2 to deliver Frame & Trusses to construction sites and working in the factory as a manufacturing operator when not under-taking deliveries.
The ideal candidate will have a Class 4/5 to train up to be a relief Hiab Driver. This is a great opportunity to gain your HIAB license and develop your driving capability and experience.

You will need strong communication skills and pride themselves on exceptional service and delivery to our customers in a timely, professional, and safe manner. With your high energy and can-do attitude, you can expect to:

• Drive a Class 2 truck - be trained as a back-up Hiab Driver
• Load and unload building materials either with a forklift or manual handling
• Carry out customer deliveries efficiently and on time and in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Working in the factory as a manufacturing operator
• Pick and assemble customer orders
• Provide exceptional customer service to all customers on construction sites

About you

The ideal candidate will have a commitment to outstanding customer service and support and have the following skills and qualities:

• Full NZ Drivers licence with minimum Class 2 required
• Forklift licence with F endorsement desirable
• Building industry experience preferred
• A team player with the right attitude.
• A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with our customers
• Basic computer skills
• Proven awareness of health and safety legislation in this industry.
• Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling
