Job summary

Carters is hiring a Yardperson at the Wellington South Rongotai branch to pick and pack orders, operate a forklift, and load deliveries. You will report to the Branch Manager and play a key role in delivering timely, professional, and safe service to customers.

As a Yardperson, you will build relationships with customers, suppliers and teammates, ensure accurate order filling, and load trucks safely while meeting safety and legal requirements. A proactive, safety-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Current full Class 1 New Zealand Driver's Licence.
• Competency in operating a Forklift with F Endorsed Licence.
• Experience working in a yard, warehouse or building supplies environment.
• A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with our customers.
• Proven awareness of health and safety legislation in this industry.
• Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Knowledge of timber and building products is an advantage.

Our CARTERS Wellington South Branch in Rongotai has an opportunity for a Yardperson to join their team. This role involves picking and packing orders and operating a forklift to load product onto delivery trucks. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and pride themselves on exceptional service and delivery to our customers in a timely, professional, and safe manner.
