Aon Aotearoa New Zealand is seeking a proactive Claims Specialist to join our Regional Claims team in Christchurch, with flexibility to base in Christchurch, Hamilton or Auckland. You will be the front-line contact for corporate clients and coordinate with insurers and brokers.

You will bring claims knowledge or strong customer service background, with outstanding communication, organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously in a busy corporate setting.

Claims Specialist

We are looking for a proactive individual to join our Regional Claims team. Ideally you will have experience from within the industry that you can bring with you to this role, otherwise you will be part of a team with expert professionals where you will be able to learn, grown and develop from their experience.

Your valued contributions will play a key part in the delivery of our Risk and Broking services to our corporate clients. This role sits in our Lodgment team.

With a National Team of Claims Specialist we are open for the right candidate to be based in Christchurch, Hamilton or Auckland.

Some of your responsibilities will include

• Being a front-line point of contact for our corporate clients and looking after any enquiries related to claims they might have
• Liaison between our clients, the insurers, legal advisers, and other related stakeholders
• Preparation of accurate and concise claim records for brokers
• Processing of legal fees and monitoring reserves
• General administration and record maintenance

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Ideally you will come from a Claims background, otherwise experience from a customer or solution driven environment with strong administrative aspects to the role from within a corporate setting would be well suited to the role.

Other key skills will be:

• Call Centre or phone based experience highly regarded
• A customer first mentality along with being a proactive problem solver
• You’ll be a natural communicator who understands how to tailor to the situation, whether it be face to face, over the phone or through written correspondence
• You’ll be a motivated self-starter who once up and running is able to work with a level of autonomy
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your work
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence using the usual suit of Office Products, but also the ability to pick up new system
