Job summary

Suncorp NZ is seeking a Commercial Motor Claims Consultant to own the end-to-end claims journey for commercial customers, balancing advocacy with commercial outcomes. You will collaborate with customers, brokers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver fair and efficient results.

The role focuses on informed decision-making, cost management, and adherence to policy and governance, in a fast-paced environment aimed at exceptional service.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and customer experience.

As a Commercial Motor Claims Consultant, you'll play a critical role in supporting commercial customers through unexpected events, helping them navigate the claims process with confidence and care. This is far more than a traditional claims role. You'll take ownership of claims from start to finish, balancing customer advocacy, commercial outcomes, and sound decision-making to deliver the best possible experience.

Working closely with customers, brokers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you'll build trusted relationships and use your problem-solving skills to achieve fair, efficient, and customer-focused outcomes. What You’ll Do

• Manage a portfolio of commercial motor claims from lodgement through to resolution, taking ownership of the customer experience throughout the claims journey.
• Build strong relationships with customers, brokers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver timely and effective outcomes.
• Make informed decisions, manage claim costs responsibly, and ensure claims are handled in line with policy, authority levels, and governance requirements.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and customer experiences.
