Job summary

Suncorp NZ is seeking a Commercial Motor Claims Consultant to support commercial customers through the claims journey, taking ownership from lodgement to resolution with a focus on customer outcomes and sound decision‑making.

You will collaborate with customers, brokers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver fair, efficient, and customer‑focused outcomes, while embracing flexible working arrangements that support work‑life balance and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial motor claims from lodgement through to resolution.
• Build strong relationships with customers, brokers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver timely and effective outcomes.
• Make informed decisions, manage claim costs responsibly, and ensure claims are handled in line with policy, authority levels, and governance requirements.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and customer experiences.

As a Commercial Motor Claims Consultant, you'll play a critical role in supporting commercial customers through unexpected events, helping them navigate the claims process with confidence and care. This is far more than a traditional claims role. You'll take ownership of claims from start to finish, balancing customer advocacy, commercial outcomes, and sound decision‑making to deliver the best possible experience.

Working closely with customers, brokers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you'll build trusted relationships and use your problem‑solving skills to achieve fair, efficient, and customer‑focused outcomes. Experience in motor or commercial insurance claims is highly regarded but not essential.
