Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking an experienced Civil Operative to join our team across civil construction projects. You will operate machinery outdoors and contribute to safe, efficient delivery of works within a professional civil crew.

The role requires proven civil experience, a Class 1 Licence, and the ability to work with others on site. Class 2 licence and WTR endorsement are advantageous, and a strong safety focus is essential.

About the Role

You will be responsible for operating machinery safely and efficiently while supporting the delivery of civil construction works. This role requires someone with proven civil experience who can work confidently as part of a team.

Duties May Include

• Operating civil machinery safely and efficiently
• Completing earthworks, excavation and general civil construction tasks
• Assisting with site preparation and ground works
• Carrying out daily machinery checks and reporting any issues
• Working alongside labourers, supervisors and other operators
• Following site safety procedures and project requirements
• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site presentation

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience working in the civil construction industry
• Class 1 Driver Licence (essential)
• Class 2 Licence highly advantageous
• WTR endorsement highly advantageous
• Experience operating civil machinery
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
• Reliable attitude and ability to work well within a team
