Job summary

Rebel Recruitment has partnered with a Kiwi-owned civil contractor expanding its South Island operation to recruit practical Civil workers. You’ll join a hands-on team on trenchless pipe rehabilitation and drainage projects, gaining exposure to a specialised area of civil construction (3-Waters) and opportunities to progress into more skilled technician roles.

Training is available and the team is experienced across the South Island.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors and handle physical labor.

• Commitment to health and safety on site.
• Current NZ Class 2 licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Site setup and preparation.
• Setting up and packing down equipment.
• Handling pipes, tools and materials.
• Cleaning and preparing pipework.
• General civil labouring.
• Supporting the experienced operators and technicians.
• Keeping the site clean, organised and safe.
• Travelling to different jobs around the South Island when required.

They’re now building their South Island operation from the ground up, so there is an opportunity to get in early and develop with the team.

The Company

Proudly Kiwi-owned since 2003.

They specialise in repairing and rehabilitating underground pipes without traditional excavation. Their trenchless systems reduce digging, disruption and the impact on surrounding communities.

They work across pipe rehabilitation, drainage, root cutting and other trenchless infrastructure repairs.

The Role

This is a hands-on site role.

You’ll be working alongside experienced crew on trenchless pipe rehabilitation and drainage projects. This is a good opportunity for a Civil worker who wants steady work, wants to learn a specialised area of civil construction and wants to grow with a company that is expanding.

Day to day, you’ll be helping with:

• Site setup and preparation
• Setting up and packing down equipment
• Handling pipes, tools and materials
• Cleaning and preparing pipework
• General civil labouring
• Supporting the experienced operators and technicians
• Keeping the site clean, organised and safe
• Travelling to different jobs around the South Island when required

There is training available, so you don’t need previous pipe relining experience.

If you have worked in civil construction, drainage, roading, utilities or general construction, that’s a plus.

• Has a full NZ Class 2 licence
• Has the right to work in New Zealand

Previous civil or drainage experience is preferred, but the right attitude and work ethic are most important.
