Job summary

Trade Assist is seeking Civil Drainage Workers to join busy Christchurch crews on major infrastructure projects across Canterbury. You'll work on stormwater, sewer, and watermain installations, pipe laying, trench work, and drainage support.

We welcome experienced drainlayers, civil workers, or motivated learners. Outdoor team environment, strong health and safety focus, and steady hours with opportunity for progression and training.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil, drainage or labouring roles is preferred.
• Reliable, hardworking and eager to learn a trade.
• Enjoy outdoor work and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil drainage tasks including stormwater, sewer and watermain installations.
• Assist pipe laying and trench work.
• Support machine operators and handle manholes/culverts where needed.
• Contribute to site preparation, reinstatement and general labouring.
• Maintain strong health and safety practices on site.

About the role

You'll work alongside experienced crews completing a range of civil drainage tasks including:

• Stormwater, sewer and watermain installations
• Pipe laying and trench work
• Assisting machine operators
• Manhole and culvert installations
• Site preparation and reinstatement
• General labouring and drainage support work
• Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety

We want to hear from you if you:

• Have civil, construction, drainage or labouring experience; or
• Are reliable, hard-working and keen to learn a trade
• Enjoy working outdoors and as part of a team
• Have a good attitude and strong work ethic
• Hold a full driver's licence (preferred but not essential)
