Job summary

Roading and Building Recruitment in Dunedin is seeking a Civil Carpenter to join our Construction team. The role requires experience in formwork, concrete and heavy structures, with boxing skills a plus and potential machine operation.

You will work Monday to Friday 6:30/7am–5:30pm, may include Saturday mornings with advance warning, on outdoor civil sites. A supportive team, good communication, reliability and a professional appearance are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Civil Carpenter experience, or 5 years as a Journeyman.
• WTR is advantageous.
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments and on construction sites.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and present well as you represent the client.

Roading and Building Recruitment – Dunedin, South Island

In this role, you will be working as part of the Construction team as a Civil Carpenter, where the projects you work on will require previous experience and skills in formwork, concrete and heavy structures, along with boxing at times.

Previous experience with similar work is highly advantageous, with those holding WTR further in demand, although this role is mainly Carpentry, some machine operation may be included at times.

As this is a Civil role, the sites being worked on will at times be dirty, so a willingness to work in outdoors environments is a necessity.

Given you will be working in a team, effective communication, reliability and a great personality is required as is the willingness to help your colleagues at times. With a deadline on some of the projects, this role is Monday to Friday 630/7am-5/530pm and may include Saturday mornings from time to time, with advance warning given.

YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IF:

• Proven experience as a Civil Carpenter with at least 3 years of experience Qualified, or 5 years of experience as a Journeyman
• WTR (Not a necessity)
• Ability to work within a team
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Can pass a drug screen.
• Present well and understand you are representing the client on the day.
