Job summary

Stellar Recruitment in Tauranga is seeking a motivated Civil Labourer to join a reputable civil contractor. You’ll be outdoors, learn on the job and grow into more responsibilities with time.

You’ll assist with earthworks, drainage and general civil work, supporting operators and tradespeople while keeping sites safe and organised. No long-experience required, just reliability and a good work attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
• Willing to learn and adapt to outdoor civil work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with earthworks, drainage and general civil construction.
• Helping excavator operators and tradespeople on site.
• Digging, trenching, backfilling and preparing work areas.
• Moving materials, tools and equipment around site.
• Assisting with pipe laying and underground infrastructure works.
• Keeping work areas safe, tidy and organised.
• Learning new skills and taking on more responsibility as you develop.

We're working with a reputable civil contractor in Tauranga who's looking for a motivated Civil Labourer to join their team.

We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of experience. We're looking for someone who's got a bit about them. Someone who turns up on time, isn't afraid of hard work, takes initiative and genuinely wants to learn.

If you're hungry to get ahead, enjoy working outdoors and want to build a long-term career in the civil industry, this could be a great opportunity to get your foot in the door.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with earthworks, drainage and general civil construction
• Helping excavator operators and experienced tradespeople on site
• Digging, trenching, backfilling and preparing work areas
• Moving materials, tools and equipment around site
• Assisting with pipe laying and underground infrastructure works
• Keeping work areas safe, tidy and organised
• Learning new skills and taking on more responsibility as you develop

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in doing a good job
• Turns up on time, every day, ready to work
• Is physically fit and enjoys hands-on work outdoors
• Shows initiative and doesn't need to be told everything twice
• Is keen to learn from experienced operators and tradespeople
• Works well in a team and communicates clearly
• Has a genuine interest in building a career in civil construction
• Has reliable transport and ideally a Full Class 1 driver's licence (Restricted considered)

Previous civil construction, landscaping, farming or general labouring experience would be an advantage, but it's certainly not essential.
