Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking a Civil Operator to support across civil projects in Taupō. Immediate start available. You’ll operate excavators and loaders, carry out earthworks and site prep, and coordinate with crews to keep projects moving.

Ideal candidates hold current NZ WTR endorsements, proven excavator/loader experience on civil sites, and a full NZ driver licence with reliable transport. Local familiarity with Taupō civil works is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current WTR endorsements.
• Civil construction experience required.
• Class 2 or 4 NZ licence advantageous.
• Full NZ licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and loaders across civil construction sites
• Complete earthworks, trenching, backfilling and site preparation
• Load, move and place materials accurately and efficiently
• Work around services, structures and other site operations
• Carry out daily machine checks and basic equipment care
• Assist with general civil duties when required
• Work alongside ground crews to keep projects progressing

Civil Operator

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Civil Operator to work across civil projects in Taupō.

Location: Taupō

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $30-$36 per hour + weekly pay

What You'll Be Doing

• Operate excavators and loaders across civil construction sites
• Complete earthworks, trenching, backfilling and site preparation
• Load, move and place materials accurately and efficiently
• Work around services, structures and other site operations
• Carry out daily machine checks and basic equipment care
• Assist with general civil duties when required
• Work alongside ground crews to keep projects progressing

What We're Looking For

• Current WTR endorsements
• Proven excavator and loader operating experience
• Previous experience working within civil construction
• Class 2 or Class 4 NZ Driver Licence advantageous
• Good understanding of civil site procedures and health and safety
• Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
• Reliable, practical and able to work effectively within a crew
