Responsibilities

  • Ensuring high-quality food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
  • Plan the Wok menu considering budget and seasonal ingredients.
  • Oversee kitchen operations.
  • Coordinate and support kitchen staff as required.
  • Train staff to prepare and cook all menu items.
  • Take stock and place orders to replenish ingredients and equipment.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Create new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Receive feedback and implement improvements.

Golden Spring Chinese Restaurant based in Napier is in need of two full-time Chinese cuisine Chefs. We require proactive and adaptable cooks with broad skill set who love to work in a busy kitchen.

Hourly Rate: $28 - $30NZD

Work Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week

Experience Required: Minimum 2 year of relevant work experience

Tasks include:

  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a
    timely manner.
  • Planning the Wok menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability
    of seasonal ingredients.
  • Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders
    to replenish stock.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
  • May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
