Job summary

Auckland Airport – Mangere Bridge, North Island is seeking an experienced Chef to join our hotel kitchen team. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.

The successful candidate will have previous hotel/restaurant kitchen experience, relevant culinary qualifications, and a strong knowledge of food preparation and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef in a hotel, restaurant or commercial kitchen
• Relevant culinary qualification is preferred
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
• Right to work in New Zealand

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and hotel standards
• Ensure food is consistently fresh, well-presented and of high quality
• Prepare ingredients and manage food preparation efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and work areas
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Monitor food quality, freshness and storage
• Minimise food waste and assist with stock control
• Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff
• Assist with menu preparation and daily specials when required
• Ensure meals are prepared and served within required timeframes
• Follow proper food storage, temperature and handling procedures
