Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island is seeking a Storeperson for our Chilled warehouse to help get stock to over 200+ stores across the South Island. You will load, pick, pack, label, and ship orders, operate pallet jacks and forklifts where needed, and maintain safety standards in a cold environment (0–8°C).

The role includes 5 days of paid training in the first week, with shifts including Friday-Monday, Tuesday-Saturday day and evening blocks. Starting pay is $27.79 per hour, with increases after 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete product orders (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
• Bulk repetitive picking and moving stock with equipment.
• Operate machinery and electric pallet jacks to move stock.
• Follow Health & Safety guidelines and keep workspace safe.
• Meet daily packing and shipping targets to support stores across the South Island.

About the role:

As a Storeperson, you will play an important role in getting our warehouse stock out to one of our 200+ stores across the South Island. Working out of our Chilled warehouse, your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Preparing and completing product orders (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
• Bulk repetitive picking - heavy lifting up to 25kg
• Operating machinery and electric pallet jacks to move stock
• Keeping you and your team safe by following our Health and Safety guidelines
• Reach daily targets and contribute to feeding the South Island

The starting payrate is $27.79 per hour, and we'll provide the PPE too! Your hourly rate is reviewed after 6 months.

We are currently looking to fill the following shift patterns:

• Friday to Monday - 7am to 5.30pm (Weekend shift)
• Tuesday to Saturday - 5am to 1.30pm
• Tuesday to Saturday - 2pm to 10.30pm (Saturday 1pm - 9.30pm)

Successful applicants will be required to complete 5 days of paid training on their first week, Monday to Friday.

About you:

As most of your shift will be spent on your feet and lifting heavy cartons, being physically fit and able to comfortably lift up-to 25kg is a requirement for this role. If that sounds like you, and you meet our other requirements below, we would love to hear from you:

• Punctual and reliable
• Keen to get stuck into the work
• Have reliable transport to get to and from work
• Able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
• Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 8°C

A Forklift license or experience in a similar role would be ideal but is not a deal breaker for us!
