Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years commercial kitchen experience.
• Level4 Cookery qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
• Hotel, function, or high-volume kitchen experience is advantageous.
• Experience in à la carte, fusion, or Asian cuisine is advantageous.
• Strong passion for producing high-quality food.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude with flexibility to work various shifts.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Willingness to relocate to Southland, New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Assist with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Ensure all foodsafety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are maintained.
• Support menu preparation and seasonal menu implementation.
• Monitor food quality and minimize kitchen waste.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while meeting deadlines.
• Assist with stock rotation and inventory management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teammates.
• Support catering, functions, and special events as required.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
