This role offers visa sponsorship for suitably qualified overseas chefs and a chance to help establish kitchen systems from day one within a busy, Italian-inspired kitchen focusing on seasonal produce.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional chef experience.
• Structured commercial kitchen experience.
• Experience handling busy or high-volume service periods.
• Italian cuisine experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of an allocated kitchen section throughout daily operations.
• Prepare and present dishes consistently according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Support fresh pasta production and traditional dough preparation.
• Coordinate preparation and service requirements to ensure an efficient kitchen workflow.
• Maintain food quality, portion control, presentation, and consistency during busy services.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, food cost management, and kitchen inventory.
• Follow New Zealand food safety, hygiene, and workplace standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-prepared workstation.
• Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and wider kitchen team.
• Contribute to kitchen procedures, team development, and a professional workplace culture.
