Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

We’re looking for an experienced Change Manager to join a significant transformation programme, on an initial six-month contract.

This is a hands-on role within a complex and diverse organisation. You’ll take ownership of change across a portfolio of activity while working alongside two other Change Managers to ensure the broader programme has a coordinated, people-centred approach to change.

We’re looking for someone who can quickly get across a complex environment, build credibility with stakeholders, and bring fresh thinking rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all change playbook.

What you’ll be doing

  • Refresh and strengthen existing change strategies and engagement plans, ensuring they are practical, targeted and fit for purpose.
  • Lead active change management across an assigned portfolio, from assessing impacts through to engagement, readiness and adoption.
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders and proactively manage engagement across different parts of the organisation.
  • Take an innovative, people-centric approach to change, developing creative and pragmatic solutions when traditional approaches aren’t enough.
  • Work closely with and provide support to two other Change Managers, helping create alignment and consistency across the programme.
  • Provide clear reporting and visibility of overall change activity, including progress, risks, dependencies and areas requiring attention.
  • Help leaders and impacted teams understand what is changing, why it matters and what they need to do differently.

What we’re looking for You’ll be an experienced Change Manager who is comfortable operating in ambiguity and can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Proven change management experience within large, diverse and complex organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑management skills, including confidence working with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and refreshing change strategies, engagement plans and change interventions.
  • A practical, adaptable and people‑first approach to delivering change.
  • The ability to think creatively and develop solutions outside the standard change toolkit when the situation calls for it.
  • Strong coordination and reporting skills, with the ability to provide a clear view of change activity across multiple workstreams.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider change team while taking ownership of your own portfolio.

Experience with Workday or Datapay would be advantageous, but it’s not essential. We’re more interested in finding an accomplished Change Manager who can quickly understand the environment, establish strong relationships and make an impact.

We’re looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, so if you’re an experienced Change Manager looking for your next transformation programme, we’d like to hear from you.
