Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a certified Construction Welder to join our client’s team in Queenstown, NZ. You will fabricate and join metal components for structural steel, pipefitting, and custom metal structures on active construction sites.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, safety-minded, and proficient in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, with the ability to read drawings and weld to project specs. On-site, on a range of weather conditions, you will uphold safety standards and quality.

Qualifications

• Certified welder (Red Seal or equivalent) with construction welding experience.
• Proficient in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and other welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and welding specs.
• Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy and safety practices.
• Physically fit to work in varied positions on site in Queenstown.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on structural steel, pipes, and metal components.
• Read welding symbols and shop drawings.
• Prepare surfaces and ensure welds meet specs and codes.
• Inspect welds for defects and ensure proper fusion.
• Maintain safety regulations and PPE usage.
