Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder for immediate-start workshop work in Patumahoe, Auckland. You will weld and fabricate structural steel for quality projects, reading drawings and working safely in a busy workshop with an experienced team.

Day-to-day duties include fabricating components and fitting to spec. Applicants should have strong MIG welding skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

What You'll Be Doing

• MIG weld and fabricate structural steel components
• Work with 200–230mm Parallel Flange Channel (PFC)
• Read and accurately work from engineering drawings
• Measure, cut, fit and assemble structural steel
• Produce accurate fabrication and quality welds
• Work safely and efficiently as part of the workshop team

What We're Looking For

• Proven structural steel fabrication experience
• Strong, demonstrable MIG welding skills
• Confidence reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Relevant MIG/structural steel welding tickets are highly regarded; proven welding experience will also be considered
• Physically fit and capable of safely carrying out hands-on structural steel fabrication work throughout the day
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively within a workshop team
• Strong attention to detail, workmanship and safe working practices
