Job summary

Barnardos Early Learning Centre Hastings is seeking a Centre Manager to lead an established ECE team in Hastings. You will balance hands-on teaching with strategic management to shape young futures and provide high-quality learning experiences for tamariki.

The role emphasizes Te Whāriki, partnership with whānau, staff development, and strong financial and operational oversight, with opportunities for professional development and career growth.

Qualifications

• ECE qualification (Bachelor or Diploma) with full teacher certification.
• Experience as Centre Manager or leadership role.
• Understanding Te Whāriki and curriculum leadership.
• Strong administration, planning, and organisational skills.
• Experience in performance management and mentoring.
• Operational and financial management experience.
• Experience in culturally diverse communities.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

• A strong understanding of Te Whāriki and curriculum leadership, with the ability to support high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.
• Strong administration, planning, and organisational skills.
• Experienced in performance management, staff development, and mentoring.
• Sound operational and financial management skills.
• Experience working in culturally diverse communities.
