Job description

This is your opportunity to take the lead of a beautifully designed, purpose-built early learning centre in one of Auckland's fastest-growing communities.

We're looking for an inspiring Centre Manager who is passionate about people, relationships, and creating exceptional learning environments. You'll inherit a strong, established team and have the opportunity to build on solid foundations, taking the centre from strength to strength.

With significant residential growth happening throughout Orewa and the surrounding areas, this role offers exciting opportunities to strengthen community connections, promote the centre, and grow enrolments while continuing to deliver outstanding outcomes for tamariki and whānau.

About the Role

As Centre Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership and success of the centre. You'll create a positive, collaborative culture where teachers feel supported, children thrive, and families feel genuinely connected.

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends people leadership, operational management, educational excellence, and community engagement.

You'll be empowered to:

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a passionate teaching team
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing centre culture
  • Build meaningful relationships with families and the wider community
  • Promote the centre and develop strong local partnerships
  • Drive occupancy growth through exceptional family experiences and community engagement
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programmes aligned with Te Whāriki
  • Support teacher growth through coaching, mentoring and professional development
  • Oversee centre operations, budgets and staffing
  • Ensure compliance with Ministry of Education licensing requirements and all relevant regulations
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and quality practice
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation across the centre
About You

You're an authentic leader who enjoys bringing people together and creating environments where both children and teachers flourish.

You'll bring:

  • Proven leadership experience within an Early Childhood Education setting
  • A current New Zealand Teaching Registration and practising certificate
  • A sound understanding of Te Whāriki, licensing criteria and ERO expectations
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience leading centre operations, compliance and quality improvement
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with families, staff and the local community
  • Commercial awareness with a passion for growing enrolments and promoting the centre
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative leadership style that empowers others to succeed
What's on Offer
  • Competitive salary aligned with the K2 Pay Parity band
  • A modern, purpose-built learning environment
  • A supportive organisation that values leadership and professional growth
  • The opportunity to shape the future of a growing centre
  • Excellent benefits package
  • A passionate team that is committed to providing exceptional outcomes for children and families
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities

If you're ready to lead a fantastic team, build strong community connections, and make a genuine impact in a growing neighbourhood, we'd love to hear from you.
