Job summary

The Red Boats is seeking a highly organised Catering & Provisioning Assistant to support our Auckland harbour cruises, private charters and events. This casual role covers a range of catering tasks from cheese boxes to grazing tables, with duties including stock control, dietary requirements and cost management.

You should be reliable, punctual and able to plan ahead, working independently within a small hands-on team.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, hospitality or food preparation is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and plan ahead.
• Strong cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparing individual cheese and grazing boxes
• Preparing grazing tables, platters and other catering
• Preparing catering according to confirmed passenger numbers
• Purchasing and collecting food, ingredients and supplies
• Monitoring and maintaining catering stock
• Checking use-by dates and rotating stock
• Packing and preparing catering for vessels
• Preparing approved dietary requirements
• Maintaining clean and organised preparation and storage areas
• Keeping purchase records and receipts
• Helping control food costs and minimise waste
• Setting up catering onboard vessels when required
• Supporting catering for private charters, functions and special events
