Job summary

Wise Group's Pathways Wellington team is seeking casual Awake night shift Support Workers to assist people experiencing mental health challenges. Shifts run 11pm to 7:30am across warm, homely environments, with free Wi‑Fi, an evening meal, and access to study toward a Level 4 qualification.

Casual roles provide leave coverage for permanent staff and offer varied experience across our mental health support services.

Qualifications

• First aid certificate is required or willingness to obtain one.
• NZCHW Level 4 or equivalent is preferred or currently studying towards it.
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti Waitangi principles.
• Flexibility and availability for varying shifts.
• Guaranteed shifts across the week for fixed periods.
• Casual employees can work across three Wellington areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide casual cover for Awake night shifts (11pm–7:30am).
• Support people experiencing mental health challenges with a person-centred approach.
• Report to the Team Coach and collaborate with Pathways Wellington team.
• Maintain recovery-focused practice and attention to detail.

We are looking for casual cover for our Awake overnight shifts. (11pm – 7.30am). Come and work in one of our warm, homelike environments where you’ll have access to free Wi-Fi, an evening meal, and the opportunity to study towards a Level 4 qualification.

The Team

You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways Wellington team who all have the common purpose to support people experiencing mental health challenges.

You’ll have a caring nature and the ability to work with people from a person‑centred approach. You’ll always work in a recovery‑focused way and have impeccable attention to detail.

You will also need to have:

• A current first aid certificate, or are you willing to obtain one
• A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent, or currently studying towards this qualification or a recognised equivalent. This is not essential as there are options to enrol to learn.
• Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti Waitangi.
• Flexibility and available for varying shifts
• There is also capacity for guaranteed shifts across the week for fixed periods of time.
• Casual employees can work across a range of services in three different areas of Wellington (Miramar/Brooklyn/Central Wellington, Tawa/Porirua/Titahi Bay and Kapiti).
