Job summary

Pathways Health Ltd is seeking casual Support Workers across the Whanganui region to offer compassionate care across respite, housing, and mobile community services. You will gain valuable hands-on experience while earning a meaningful income.

Qualifications

• Must hold a NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or be studying toward it.
• Current first aid certificate is required.
• Able to work varied shifts across all services.

Responsibilities

• Support adults in respite, housing and mobile community services.
• Assist with day-to-day activities including cooking, cleaning and community engagement.
• Work across irregular shifts, including 24/7 coverage as needed.

The Role|Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Our casual rolescover leave for permanent Support Workers, providing you with the opportunityto gain valuable experience across a range of our services.

Roleprovides the opportunity to work different shift patterns, AM 0:700 -15:30, PM15:00 -23:30 and Awake night shift 23:00 -07:30

This variedrole could see you working on a variety of different tasks:

• Respite service – This role supports the day to day running of the Adult Respite Service.This role is varied and includes a number of tasks from supporting those staying in the house with day-to-day activities, to supporting with cooking, cleaning and gardening.You will also work alongside the team to welcome Clinical Teams to Respite.


• Housing and Recovery service – Work alongside the team and be an integral part of promoting wellness and support people to transition to independent living in the community. You will assist people with day-to-day activities including accessing social and recreational groups, participate in community activities, education and employment, budgeting and welcoming clinical teams.


• Mobile Community – Assist with household tasks, medication support, appointments, and community engagement.

The hours ofwork are irregular and offered when available. We operate 24 hours a day, 7days a week.

• A current first aid certificateor are you willing to obtain one


• For our respite services,applications must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and WellbeingLevel 4 (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent, or are currently studyingtowards this qualification or a recognised equivalent


• Able to be flexible andavailable for varying shifts across all services.
