Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Greymouth is seeking a Casual Cleaner to support Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital and Health Centre. You will work with a small team to maintain a safe, clean environment across patient areas, public spaces and facilities.

This role offers an hourly rate from NZD 28.63 under the Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and includes weekend and public holiday time-and-a-half or double time benefits.

Qualifications

• Full driver’s licence is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and time management are required.
• High level of patient confidentiality is expected.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to Health and Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Completing all cleaning tasks to healthcare standards throughout the hospital.
• Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes.
• Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment safely around patients and visitors.
• Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with safety protocols.

About the Role

Theteam provides exceptional cleaning services 365 days a year.

Salary- Starting from $28.63 per hour, Based Onthę Etū Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.

You will be responsible for:

• Completing all cleaning tasks to international healthcare standards throughout the hospital in areas such as patient rooms, public areas & lavatories.
• Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes.
• Operating and maintaining equipment safely around tūro (patients) and whānau (families).
• Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with safety protocols.

About you

• Full drivers license is essential
• Excellent communication skills, customer service and time management skills
• High level of patient confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to follow Health and Safety procedures
• Experience as a cleaner, particularly within health is preferred but not essential
