Job summary

Heritage Lifecare invites applications for a Casual Registered Nurse at Highfield Lifecare in Timaru. You will work in a 44-bed care home providing compassionate, professional nursing care in a welcoming environment.

As a Registered Nurse, you will lead a supportive team, develop care plans, perform clinical assessments, and build lasting relationships with residents, families and GPs. On-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Registered Nurse APC is required.
• Experience in aged care and dementia care is advantageous.
• Strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management and prioritising abilities.
• Comfort with learning new systems and technology.
• Empathy and a genuine desire to make a difference.
• Ability to participate in an on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Caregivers to deliver high-quality care.
• Develop and monitor individual care plans.
• Carry out clinical assessments and reviews.
• Form strong relationships with residents, families and GPs.
• Support the Clinical Services and Care Home Manager.

About This Role

• Highfield Lifecare is a 44-bed Care Home located in the beautiful seaside town of Timaru.
• Casual (as and when required not on a regular basis)
• AM, PM, Nights and Weekend shifts

Skills & Experience

• Current NZ Registered Nurse Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
• Previous Registered Nurse experience (Aged Care / Dementia experience would be an advantage)
• Sound written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management and prioritising skills
• Computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Empathy towards others and the drive to make a difference in the lives of others
• Ability to participate in an on-call roster
