Job summary

Rightmove Recruitment in Christchurch, Canterbury, is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our close-knit team on diverse projects. You will work with high-quality workmanship and ensure customer satisfaction, reporting to the site manager. Hours are 7:30am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Starting pay is $32.00–$36.00 per hour, with ongoing opportunities, PPE provided, and support from the Rightmove Team. Formal carpentry qualifications are preferred but not essential, and owning tools and a vehicle is

Qualifications

• Three years or more of experience in a construction environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and specifications.
• Own full tool set and valid licence beneficial, vehicle preferred.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Undertake carpentry across framing, roofing, flooring and finishing.
• Read blueprints and ensure precise execution of projects.
• Coordinate with manager and clients to schedule work.
• Maintain safe, organized worksites in line with health and safety rules.

About the role

Rightmove Recruitment is seeking a Carpenter to join our team in Christchurch, Canterbury. You will be working alongside a small team of great people on different projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Hours of work will be 07:30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Starting pay rate will be $32.00 - $36.00 per hour.

What you'll be doing

• Undertake all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, roofing, flooring, and finishing
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate completion of projects
• Collaborate with the manager and clients to coordinate and execute construction schedules
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

• You will have at least 3 years' experience in a construction environment
• Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Formal qualification in Carpentry preferred but not essential
• You will need your own full tool set
• Full licence and own work vehicle
• 2 contactable references
