Job summary

Redroofs Lifecare in Dunedin (Otago) is seeking a part-time Healthcare Support Worker (12 hours per week). Must be available Saturdays and Sundays, with AM and PM shifts to support our residents in a 50-bed care home.

You will provide compassionate care and assist with daily living activities, helping residents feel safe, valued and well cared for in a warm environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally in aged care.
• NZQA Health and Wellbeing certificate or equivalent nursing qualification.
• At least six months experience as a caregiver or similar role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Provide high-standard care to residents with kindness and patience.

About Our Role

• Redroofs Lifecare, located in Beautiful Dunedin
• Permanent Part-time (12 hours per week)
• Must be available Saturdays and Sundays
• AM's and PM's shifts

You will have a positive compassionate attitude, the ability to make others smile, and be great at working with people. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents are cared for to the highest standard with kindness and patience, in a warm and caring atmosphere.

Your Skills And Experience

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Minimum NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing)
• At least six months experience as a Caregiver or in a similar role.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
