Job summary

Heritage Lifecare in Greymouth invites applications for a Caregiver. This 28-hour-per-week permanent part-time role covers AM, PM, night and weekend shifts in a West Coast rest home and hospital environment.

You’ll bring a caring attitude, strong communication, and a willingness to support residents with daily activities while upholding safety and quality standards. NZQA Health & Wellbeing certificate or nursing qualifications are preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine love for helping people and excellent customer service attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and support to residents to maintain dignity and quality of life.
• Assist with daily activities and personal care in a respectful, safe manner.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and report concerns to the team.

About this role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Caregiver with a passion for caring for others, to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents. You will have a positive compassionate attitude, the ability to make others smile, and be great at working with people. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents are cared for to the highest standard with kindness and patience, in a warm and caring atmosphere.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing) is preferred, but not essential.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
