Job summary

Heritage Lifecare is seeking a caring caregiver to join our Whanganui team, providing compassionate support to residents in a warm, professional environment where empathy and respect are at the heart of every interaction.

You will assist with daily living activities, support wellbeing, and help maintain high care standards across AM, PM, nights and weekend shifts. Applicants must have NZQA Level 4 Health and Wellbeing or equivalent and the right to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally in aged care.
• NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or equivalent.
• Minimum six months experience as a caregiver.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

About Our Role:

• St. Johns Hill Lifecare, located in Beautiful Whanganui
• Permanent Full-Time (32 hours or more per week)
• $32.06 per hour
• AM, PM, Nights and Weekend shifts

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Caregiver with a passion for caring for others, to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents. You will have a positive compassionate attitude, the ability to make others smile, and be great at working with people. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents are cared for to the highest standard with kindness and patience, in a warm and caring atmosphere.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Minimum NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma in Nursing)
• Minimum six months experience as a caregiver or in a similar role.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.
