Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages in Papamoa is seeking a Caregiver for casual, on‑call shifts. You will join a caring team focused on delivering safe, healthy, and enjoyable daily living for residents.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, personal care, and activities, while building strong relationships with residents and families. Prior experience in aged care and flexible scheduling are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or similar role.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Commitment to being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and assist with mealtimes.
• Aide with hygiene and daily personal care.
• Support with individual care plan activities, such as walks and exercises.

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Papamoa village, you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident's daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a Casual role. Working on an as and when needed basis.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people's lives.

You'll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Commitmentto being available for a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice
