Job summary

Summerset Palms Village in Napier (Hawke's Bay) is seeking a caring caregiver to join our team. You will work with residents to deliver personal care and support daily living, helping with meals, hygiene and mobility within a warm, resident‑centred environment.

This roster is 4 days on, 2 days off, with AM and PM shifts, totalling 60–80 hours per fortnight. We value empathy, reliability and strong communication to build lasting relationships with residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or a similar role.
• Strong verbal communication skills and relationship-building.
• Rotational roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts.
• Roster pattern of 4 days on, 2 days off.

Responsibilities

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes.
• Aiding with hygiene and showering.
• Assisting with individual care plan activities, walks and exercises.
• Helping with activities and social engagement for residents.

Job Description:

As a Caregiver at our Summerset Palms Village,you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This position is rostered on a 4 days on, 2 days off pattern on AM and PM shifts, working between 60 - 80 hours per fortnight.

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:
