Job summary

MCI Consulting Pte. Ltd. in Queenstown, New Zealand, is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker to assist registered nurses in inpatient areas.

You will provide basic patient care, daily living support, and help with vital signs, samples, and simple clinical tasks. Applicants with WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support or equivalent are welcome; prior experience is valued, but candidates without the experience may be considered for other opportunities.

Job description

Job Highlights:

• Salary: Up to $2,700

• Working Days and Hours : 5 working days - 3 Rotating Shift

• Location: Queenstown

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist Registered Nurses/Enrolled Nurses to provide basic care for patients in inpatient areas

• Basic Patient Care: Assist with daily living needs such as bathing, toileting, feeding, mobility, and hygiene

• Vital Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs, assist with ECGs, glucose monitoring, and collect specimens (e.g. urine, stool, swabs)

• Clinical Support: Aid nurses in simple procedures like suctioning, wound dressing, oxygen setup, and emergency assistance

• Admission & Transfers: Support patient admissions, orientation, bed management, and inter-department transfers

• Ward Operations: Perform clerical tasks, manage supplies, assist with portering, and maintain cleanliness and safety in the ward

• Patient Interaction: Respond to call bells, engage patients and families, and support quality improvement efforts

Requirements:

• Relevant WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care) / ITE Skills Cert in Healthcare / HMI Healthcare Support, or equivalent
