Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a full-time Sports Coordinator to safeguard student wellbeing by delivering sport tournaments, leagues, programmes and events. You will supervise tournaments from planning to results and help manage travel and logistics for inter-tertiary events.

This fixed-term 8-month role reports to the Sports Team Leader. Key requirements include a relevant degree, sport-event management experience, and strong relationship skills to engage with staff and students.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Relevant experience and knowledge of sport and recreation programming, delivery and sport event management.
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm and passion for the sport and recreation industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all elements related to the successful delivery of sport tournaments/programmes including planning, marketing, registrations, venues, draws, officials, health and safety, prizes and communicating results.
• Oversee national inter-tertiary tournaments and events including budgets, travel, staffing and logistics.
• Advise on opportunities to develop, process improvements and annual planning.
• Project manage and deliver sports events, programmes and services as required.
